On Saturday, February 15th we invite you to the opening for the temporary exhibition of paintings by the artist, and former Chinati Foundation Resident, Yuh-Shioh Wong, which takes place from 4 - 6 pm.
The current exhibition is the result of a few weeks residency in the Marfa Book Company Gallery, where the artist Yuh-Shioh Wong has been painting in preparation for a show at Anthony Meier Fine Arts in San Francisco. Not exactly a traditional form of presentation, as evidenced by the paintings along the floor and two turned away from the viewer, this exhibition provides a view onto what are, for the artist, a possible set of almost narrative combinations of the work she has been making. Please inquire at the bookstore counter if you are interested in purchasing any of these works.
Former Chinati Artist in Resident 2013, Yuh-Shioh Wong, invites the public to view and respond to her works in progress, a series of paintings she has been making during her stay in Marfa since the beginning of January. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, she holds a degree in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard University, and has shown across the U.S. She currently lives in Berkeley, CA.
